The ceremony to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between  Ho Chi Minh City Open University, A&C Auditing and Consulting Co., Ltd. (Baker Tilly A&C) and other enterprises operating in auditing and accounting field was held in the morning of 31 May 2024 at Ho Chi Minh City Open University’s campus at No. 97 Vo Van Tan Street, District 3. For Baker Tilly A&C, this event is a milestone for long-term, sustainable and good cooperation between two parties in professional training and workshop as well as student support that have been well developed over the years.

The ceremony welcomed the attendance of representatives from Ho Chi Minh City Open University, including Mr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang (PhD.) - Vice Principal, Mr. Ho Huu Thuy (PhD.) - Dean of the Accounting - Auditing Faculty,  Ms. Tran Tuyet Thanh (MSc) - Deputy Dean of the Accounting - Auditing Faculty and lecturers from the Accounting - Auditing Faculty and representatives from Baker Tilly A&C, including Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri – Deputy General Director, Ms. Tran Pham Mai Anh – HR and Admin Director and  Mr. Hoang Thai Vuong – Audit Director.

The first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in June 2020 has laid the foundations for many training cooperation and student support. During the last three years, there have been 50 students of the Accounting – Auditing Faculty of Ho Chi Minh City Open University successfully applied for internship and nearly 30 students become official members of Baker Tilly A&C. With the MOU’s renewal, both parties expressed their desire for long-term and sustainable cooperation to provide the best support to students in achieving the following goals:

1. Upholding competence and strengths of each party, effectively utilizing  potential resources with respects to facilities, talents and expertise in training of  high-quality labor forces to meet the practical needs of enterprises;

2. Working with each other to improve the training and teaching programs of the Accounting - Auditing Faculty of Ho Chi Minh City Open University;

3. Bringing practical benefits in terms of practical training and high-quality labor force development;

Accordingly, parties have committed to customizing these goals through specific cooperation program. Ho Chi Minh City Open University will support Baker Tilly A&C in staff recruitment by introducing students to Baker Tilly A&C for internships and employment. In return, Baker Tilly A&C will also support training activities of Ho Chi Minh City Open University to ensure training quality and provide students with opportunities for on-job training and practical lessons.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang )PhD.) - Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City Open University said: “In an effort to satisfy the practical needs of the learners and the society, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has continuously improved and innovated its training programs over the years. I believe that, as an effective connection between students and enterprises, the Accounting – Auditing Faculty has contributed to training high-quality personnel, increasing job opportunities for students while positively contributing to the development of the enterprises in particular and the society in general”.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri - Deputy General Director of Baker Tilly A&C said: “Baker Tilly A&C is very interested in providing training and supports to students through the opportunities for internship and fresh graduate recruitment and send experts to seminars or themed training programs of the universities. We are always willing to work with and support the Accounting - Auditing Faculty of Ho Chi Minh City Open University in pursuing the goal of training high-quality labor force”.

The cooperation built and developed over many years between Baker Tilly A&C and Ho Chi Minh City Open University is expected to achieve practical and meaningful growth in the near future. Thanks to this cooperation, the students have had numerous career opportunities and contribute to the development of both parties.
