A&C attended the 5th Business Round-table held by the Faculty of Accounting, Ton Duc Thang University

The Business Round-table, held annually by the Faculty of Accounting of Ton Duc Thang University, is to strengthen and promote the connectivity between the University and enterprises in training and employing human resources, as well as catching up ideas from employers on developing qualified training programs to meet the actual demands of businesses.

In the afternoon of 14 July 2022, the 5th Business Round-table was held by the Faculty of Accounting of Ton Duc Thang University with the attendance of Le Thi My Hanh, Ph.D. – Dean of the Accounting Faculty of Ton Duc Thang University; Tran Khanh Lam - Secretary General of the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA); Le Bich Tran – Development Director of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW); Tran Duy Hung – Business Development Manager of CPA Australia in Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Ngoc Thanh – Senior Partner of A&C Auditing and Consulting Co., Ltd., representatives of more than 30 enterprises, and alumni and lecturers of the Faculty of Accounting of Ton Duc Thang University.

Le Thi My Hanh, Ph.D. - Dean of the Faculty of Accounting, gave the opening remarks to introduce the content and purposes of this Round-table. MSc. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong presented “Training programs of the Faculty of Accounting in 2019” with improvements after integrating comments from previous Business Roundtables and related parties.

This Round-table also reviewed the results of training programs after seven years of the implementation of the Top 100 program, with a report on career modules by MSc. Bui Thi Bich Lien. Accordingly, the integration of career modules in training has best facilitated students to find the right employers upon their entry into the University. The field training has facilitated students to comprehensively develop soft, office, and professional skills.

Le Thi My Hanh, Ph.D. made the presentation of 2022 Training Program Outline, with highlights on innovations in subjects, subjects to be supplemented, adjustments or changes in subjects’ duration, industry -oriented improvements, specifically the enhancement in analysis, control and corporate governance, using the tools for analysis, processing and forecast, with an aim to keep pace with innovation trends of the accounting industry in the 4.0 era.

A&C has been a partner of the Faculty of Accounting of Ton Duc Thang University over many years. In this Roundtable, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh – Deputy General Director of A&C, recommended the Faculty to provide further training on business risk management in its 2022 training program, whereby students can develop their professional knowledge and skills according to the best practices in independent and internal audit.

Wrapping up the Roundtable, Le Thi My Hanh, Ph.D. answered questions and cleared up concerns from attendants and summarized contents for improvement in 2022 Training Program. She also expressed the expectation of receiving the cooperation and support from partners – professional associations, enterprises and alumni to improve training programs and teaching contents to improve the quality of graduates.
